Antique French ironstone plate monogrammed with an 'M' in blue transferware with delicate floral rim detail. There isn't an obvious makers mark on the underside of the plate, something G and the stamp 'Ivoire'.
It is striking and even with the crack in the middle I couldn't leave this one behind. It would look perfect on a plate rail of other perfectly imperfect plates. Maybe this one could start, or add to, a collection of other letters spelling out a name (of the house, the person, or just 'mum').
The condition is commensurate with its age, as mentioned there is the obvious crack in the middle of the plate and tea staining is present.
