Antique French handmade white linen night gown or slip beautifully edged and light cool cotton from around the 1920s period. It has been embroidered with the initials LD. This can easily be worn as a summer dress with a belted waist, or not, or just as it was initially intended as a night gown. It has a beautiful hand made cotton lace detail at the top of the dress and around the back. There is a triangular extra panel sewn into the sides for extra width at the bottom.
It sits at knee length (the model is 173cm), would be great as a summer dress.
This came from a batch of linens in a French Manor House in the South West of France.
It is in good condition, zoom into the photos to see the cloth in detail with its weave. Some of the lace has been repaired. There is the usually occasional tiny bobbling of the cotton fabric. Please see all photos, and zoom in, for further descriptions.
