Vintage Life of Christ wall hanging cross with sections of different scenes from the life of Christ are represented in colourfully applied enamel. This work of art appears to be very similar to the work of the Spanish artist Modest Morato Ojer (1909-1993). There isn't a marker or a plaque as usual with the authenticity so I can only assume this is a copy of his work.
It is a beautifully executed work with the bright colours and segments of story in the sections of the cross. It has been framed in wood and then decorated with a gilt finish around the edges.
Modest Morato Ojer was a teacher at the Masana school in Barcelona. He traveled researching the technique of great masters' varnish. He has been one of the main drivers of the revival of the Art of Enamel in Spain.
