A rare and charming antique pottery money box in the form of a Wesleyan Chapel, originating from Mexborough, Yorkshire. This exceptional piece is personalised with the name Helen Nash Windsor inscribed in capital letters on the front façade, between two distinctive red doors — making it a truly one-of-a-kind collectible.

The building is richly detailed with modelled brickwork across the front, back and side elevations, enamelled in crisp white. The tiled roof is finished in blue with yellow detailing around the windows and roofline. Flanking each front corner of the chapel stand a moulded man and woman, adding to its sculptural charm.

A coin slot is discreetly positioned in the back of the roof — a functional reminder of its original purpose as a Victorian children's savings bank.

These personalised chapel money boxes are believed to have been custom-made gifts, each unique to its recipient — sometimes featuring a name, a town, a date, or cherubs on the corners. The Wesleyan Chapel depicted still stands in Mexborough today, though it is no longer used as a place of worship.

Condition: Good antique condition with no repairs or restorations. Natural crazing present, consistent with age and authenticity.
