Antique French handmade white cotton night gown or slip beautifully edged and heavy thick linen from around the 1920s period. This can easily be worn as a summer dress with a belted waist, or not, or just as it was initially intended as a night gown. It has a nice embroidered edging detail around the neck and arm straps.
The initials GJ are embroidered on the front in white stitch to the left. On the 'V' shaped neckline is a cotton cord to tie.

It is in good condition, zoom into the photos to see the cloth in detail with its weave. There is the usually occasional bobbling of the linen fabric and there is one tiny dot on the back of the skirt area, close to the bottom, there is also a tiny fray on the corner of the bottom hem.
