This is a lovely ironstone, terre de fer, soup tureen produced in French by GIEN called Pont Aux Choux. The mark beneath indicates the series was produced during the 1960s. It is an off-white colour and has an artichoke form lid handle and decorative handles on the bowl.
Clearly it could be used for many things: soup tureen, serving pasta, serving fruit salad, a fruit bowl or just as a decoration piece.
It is in good condition for its age the bowl rim nor lid have any chips or cracks, there is a tiny chip on the rim of the foot. Please see all the photos carefully (photo 8 for the chip).
