A pair of antique early 1900s off-white canvas gaiters with twelve button fastening. These are not lined. They would have covered the entire ankle and calf. There is a faded mark inside that indicates the make but it is not clear.
They could have been used as part of a military uniform but they seem rather small. The shoe in the photo is a small lady's size.
The buckle is still present but the strap that went beneath the foot of the boot has been cut off on both sides.
There are some discolouration and time spots (may come out with delicate washing), little signs of age & use but they are still in very good condition & could be worn.
The come from a French Manor House in the South West of France and were stored with many other linen and haberdashery items for decades until the house was sold recently.
They are an adult size.Please look closely at the measurements in the photos.
