In great rustic condition, this small antique French terre de fer, ironstone, bowl and lid was made in the Dijon region by the French ceramic company Digoin during 1875-1900, as per the mark on the underside.
Originally used to supply pâtés or meat terrine. It is a beautiful rustic and simple bowl. Always a bonus having bowls with matching lids in the kitchen for preparations.
Good for serving and storage.
It is rarer to find these bowls with its lid these days.
There is crazing present and some general marks of previous use and history.
