Each plate has a little hollow on one side for the sauce.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe French traditionally love asparagus and will eat a plate as an entree to dinner with a buttery sauce. These plates were very popular in the past and would have shown the status of the family using dinnerware specifically for their asparagus. The rim of the plate has a mustard yellow coloured basketweave pattern.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThey would all have been hand painted and hence the colours vary slightly making them all unique.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNone of them have chips or cracks.
